Founded under the initiative of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra has performed more than 300 concerts over its six-year history, both in Russia and abroad. In Abu Dhabi, the orchestra will be joined by top graduates of the Sirius Educational Center. The concert is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
The program will include such works by Tchaikovsky as fragments from Swan Lake and Capriccio Italien. The violinist Pavel Milyukov, a laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition and one of the most outstanding violinists of his generation, will perform The Melody from Memories of a Dear Place cycle for violin and orchestra. The concert also features famous compositions by Russian and Soviet composers, including Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Aram Khachaturian, and Alexander Borodin, and concludes with Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Denis Matsuev, one of the world’s most acclaimed interpreters of Rachmaninoff’s music.
The Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra is the largest youth project in the field of classical music in Russia. From its inception, it has operated as a Symphony Academy, with creative workshops and masterclasses being an integral part of its artistic life. Since 2021, in collaboration with Sirius, the RNYSO has been running the Symphony Academy project—an annual intensive workshop for aspiring orchestral musicians, combining educational, outreach, and concert activities. Over the past four years, more than 100 Sirius students have participated in the Academy.
Among the Sirius graduates joining the RNYSO are violinist Andrey Perezhogin, cellist Renata Bolshakova, flutist Ekaterina Nikulina, clarinetist Grigory Gritskov, and trumpeters Sergey Pepelyaev and Anastasia Popova. Over the years, their artistic development has been guided by Sirius educators, and all have participated in the Symphony Academy project.
The first scientific and educational forum, Sirius Talent Summit, will take place in Abu Dhabi from February 23 to 25. Sirius will host over 40 scientific, educational, cultural, and sporting events featuring leading Russian scientists, educators, and industry partners. Prominent experts from Russia and the UAE will discuss key issues of international and regional cooperation in education, science, art, ecology, climate change adaptation, and innovative development. The program includes masterclasses, a youth science school, and open platforms focused on science, art, and sports.
As part of the popular science game Carbon-Neutral City, a discussion will be held where young scientists will share ideas about the cities of the future for study, research, and living. The outcomes of this discussion will be presented at the plenary session Integration of Talent Development Systems in the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates on February 25. Key topics will include Creating a Joint Environment for Youth Development in Russia and the UAE: Innovation, Architecture, Ecology. Another important topic will be Introducing Russian Culture and Identity. The dialogue on traditional spiritual values was initiated at Sirius by leading Russian and international experts in science, philosophy, religion, and art during the First International Scientific-Religious Conference If Truth Stands Before Us… Participants discussed how the integration of science, art, and religion can contribute to the modernization of education systems. It has been decided to establish a permanent platform for such interactions on the federal territory.
